What does an advertising creative do?

When my family asks me what I do, it’s really hard to explain because I don’t even do commercials.

I mostly work with digital advertising.

So how do you explain what a bumper ad is?

“Oh, so it’s your fault I can’t watch my YouTube video to the end because of those commercials.”

“Oh, you put that annoying ad about a video game in my Duolingo class?”

Advertising is more than selling things.

It’s a craft.

A really hard one.

We create stories to captivate people’s attention and try to resonate with them.

So it’s not only about making a beautiful headline over a photo.

It’s hours of thinking of something new.

It’s magic.
